But I'm not in class to show off my backside. >I just wish someone made dancebelts that had a 'normal' back to them. At the moment I wear ordinary briefs that happen to be fairly supportive - though I admit they don't always give quite enough support (this I discovered doing sideways gallops - need I say more....)>> It's not for nothing a thong is called "bun floss."  >*grin* >A.I'm going to agree with these other guys; Capezio is much more comfortable.  My first dance belt was given to me by the costumer in college (we were doing Shakespeare, and they were purchased for all of the guys).  It was the most painful memory of the show, and for a few dance classes after that.  After I bought the Capezio,  I knew there was hope.  As for the concern in the initial question, hopefully you're not wearing your dancebelt like underwear, 18 hours a day.  A few hours at a time, while working out, won't do any harm.  If you're truly concerned about the health aspects, make sure to wear cotton boxers (not boxer briefs)when not in class.  I've got seven kids, so there's obviously been no damage done. (Yeah, I really do!)
